By plane:

The nearest airport to the lake is Badajoz Airport, which is only 14 kilometers from the city and 20 kilometers from the lake, resulting in a 15-minute journey.

Lisbon Airport is 200 kilometers away from the lake. You can reach the lake by car by taking the motorway.

By car: From Madrid, it’s a 415-kilometers journey. Take the A-5 motorway towards Badajoz, and once you cross the border, you’ll spot the Caia Service Area (petrol station) on the right side. The lake is just 800 meters from the service station. From Lisbon, the distance is 208 kilometers. Take the A2/IP7/E01 for 50 kilometers until you reach exit 7 (Espanha-Santarem-Évora). At this point, take the A6/IP7/E90 toll motorway for about 150 kilometers, and then take the Caia Service Area exit after you’ve passed the turn-off to the town of Elvas. The lake is a mere 800 meters from the service station.
